Well Life is an outpatient mental health private practice located in  Maryland. We are committed to supporting individuals and families on the journey to mental wellness. We strive to create a warm and welcoming experience that allows every client to feel heard, valued, and supported. Our mental health services are available to children and adults.

Well Life has a mission is to promote the well-being by providing care that is personalized, evidence-based, and culturally sensitive. Our goal is to empower individuals to live their best lives by helping them identify and overcome the barriers that prevent them from being and feeling their best.

​Ashley Watkins is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner dedicated to providing compassionate, individualized mental health care. A proud Baltimore City native, Ashley is deeply connected to the community she serves.

She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Coppin State University and went on to complete a Master of Science in Nursing with a concentration in Nursing Education at Morgan State University. Ashley later received her Post-Master’s Nurse Practitioner Certification in Psychiatric Mental Health from Walden University.

With over 20 years of experience in patient care, Ashley brings a holistic and practical approach to treatment. Her background includes working in a wide range of settings—including inpatient and outpatient substance use treatment, outpatient mental health clinics, acute medical units, outpatient surgery, correctional facilities, home health, case management, and hospice care. This diverse experience allows her to connect with patients from all walks of life and deliver care that is not only evidence-based but also deeply rooted in empathy and respect.

Courtney Pate PhD, CRNP, FNP-C, PHMNP-BC

​Dr. Courtney Pate is a PhD-prepared, dually board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health and Family Nurse Practitioner dedicated to providing compassionate, individualized health care. A proud Baltimore City native, Dr. Pate has dedicated her career to serving her community. She earned her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Nursing (FNP) from Coppin State University. She went on to become the first African-American student to enroll and complete her Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing at West Virginia University. Master of Science in Nursing with a concentration in Nursing Education at Morgan State University. Dr. Pate later received her Post-Master’s Nurse Practitioner Certification in Psychiatric Mental Health from Maryville University.

 

Dr. Pate brings more than 18 years of clinical experience to her practice, having worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Throughout her career, she has led teams of over 50 professionals and managed multi-million-dollar budgets, experiences that give her unique insight into the demands and pressures faced by high-performing professionals.

Her therapeutic approach is collaborative, compassionate, and evidence-based. Dr. Pate is dedicated to creating a safe and supportive space where clients feel seen, heard, and empowered to take steps toward growth and healing. She draws on her clinical expertise to help individuals navigate challenges such as stress, burnout, life transitions, and the ongoing pursuit of balance.

As a wife and mother of four, Dr. Pate understands firsthand the complexities of managing both career and family life. This personal perspective deepens her connection with clients who are striving to honor their personal well-being while juggling multiple responsibilities.
